August Message from the Chair

Jeffrey ByrneThis year is particularly special as we celebrate the 80th Anniversary of The Giving Institute and the 60th Anniversary of the Giving USA Foundation. We have many exciting and interactive programs in the works for our meeting in Chicago, November 12 and 13, including a Consultant Mentorship Series on November 12 and the Gurin Forum on November 13. The Gurin Forum will be broadcast live online, thanks to Peach New Media, and we’ll have participation from The Chronicle of Philanthropy. The Forum will be an opportunity to continue the conversation about donor-advised funds that we began in Boston during the Summer Symposium.

During the next year, The Giving Institute will continue to focus on many initiatives, in which we hope to involve as many members as possible. A strong group of creative and dedicated individuals are leading various committees in business trends, advocacy, strategic planning, membership, programs, and education.

I challenge you to stay informed, involved, and take advantage of all the opportunities The Giving Institute presents. I hope you will be a part of the vibrant, engaging, and informative discussions as we dream big, learn from one another and continue to deliver additional research and tools for our firms, our clients and the industry.

Thank you for being an important part of The Giving Institute’s vision to develop extraordinary leaders in the world of philanthropy.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey D. Byrne
