Dear Members,
There are occasionally times when, in the words of historians, “events seem to succeed each other with great rapidity.” Even with 2020 behind us, we are certainly in one of those times. As the pace of societal change around multiple issues and challenges accelerates, it is urgent that we not only keep current, but also look ahead.
The thought leadership of The Giving Institute and the research of Giving USA Foundation are great resources with which to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in philanthropy. We have many events planned for this year where we’ll be able to connect both virtually and in person to discuss our path forward and share what we have learned so far. Be sure to mark your calendar for the virtual March Meeting on March 2-3, with Zoom links to be provided via email before the event, Summer Symposium in Washington, D.C. on July 22-25, and more upcoming webinars.
We are also planning for our organization’s future capabilities. Various committees will be asked to dive deeply into results from our fall member survey and the strategic planning committee will report their progress and next steps at our March Meeting. Thank you for your participation so far and I’m looking forward to what we’ll achieve in 2021.
Sincerely,
Ted Grossnickle
