Timothy R. Burcham, CFRE founded the Burcham Solutions Group, LLC in August 2016 that merges the disciplines of strategic planning, change/project management, resource development, and executive search services into a unique approach that helps organizations design their future, raise the resources to achieve it, identify talent and leadership, and manage organizational transitions and changes over time.

Current and past clients include the Kentucky Pharmacists Association, the Kentucky Pharmacy Education and Research Foundation, the Society for the Advancement of Native Americans/Hispanics in STEM (SACNAS), the University of Kentucky HealthCare Markey Cancer Center Foundation, Arbor Youth Services, the Lexington History Museum, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease)-National Office, the Blue Grass Community Foundation, the Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road Council, the Phi Delta Theta National Headquarters Foundation, the University of Connecticut Foundation, the World Trade Center-Kentucky, the Nest, Kentucky Campus Compact based at Northern Kentucky University, Operation UNITE, the University of Kentucky Office of Institutional Diversity, the U.S. Pony Clubs, the North Limestone Community Development Corporation, National Association of Cancer Center Development Officers (NACCDO), LexArts, and Dining Out for Life International (DOFLI).

Prior to forming Burcham Solutions, he served for 26 years as Vice President for Advancement and as the Foundation CEO for Kentucky’s largest institution of higher education – the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. Prior to joining KCTCS, Tim served as the Director of Development for the University of Kentucky Community College System and as the Associate Director of Development for the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Over his career, Tim mounted three comprehensive multi-year, statewide major gift campaigns that encompassed more than 70 individual projects in 17 locations across Kentucky that raised in excess of $200 million in philanthropic support, built an endowment of $50 million+, and attracted hundreds of millions of dollars in matching funds and appropriations from local, state, and federal sources.

Tim is recognized internationally for his three decades of leadership with the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) comprised of 240 chapters and more 30,000 members around the world. He served as the AFP Global Board Chair in 2007 & 2008. As Chair-Elect of AFP, Tim led the strategic planning efforts for the Global Association Board for two-years. Tim currently serves on the fundraising board for the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy in the United States and chairs the External Major Gifts Committee. Tim also founded the AFP Political Action Committee, the only PAC in America focused exclusively on the charitable fundraising profession and philanthropy.

Tim carries two professional certifications – as a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1993 and Prosci Change Management Certification since 2011.
